Ncaa Womens Lacrosse Championship 2023

**Northwestern Women's Lacrosse Triumphs at WEB 2023 DI Championship** Northwestern University's Women's Lacrosse team emerged victorious at the recently concluded 2023 Western Lacrosse Federation (WEB) Division I Championship. In a thrilling match, the Wildcats rallied from an early deficit to secure a hard-fought win. With the game tied in the second quarter, Northwestern unleashed a dominant 5-0 scoring run that spanned both the second and third periods. This surge gave them a cushion that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. Northwestern's offense was led by junior attacker Lauren Gilbert, who netted two goals and assisted on another. Senior midfielder Madison Henry and freshman midfielder Blake McHugh also contributed with two goals each. On the defensive side, the Wildcats were equally impressive. Sophomore goalkeeper Lily Domurat recorded nine saves, including several key stops in crucial moments. The defense also forced nine turnovers, disrupting the opposition's offensive rhythm. This victory marks Northwestern's first WEB DI Championship title since 2019. The team now boasts a 17-3 overall record and is poised for a strong run in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller praised her team's resilience and determination. "We faced adversity today, but these players never gave up," she said. "They showed incredible heart and executed our game plan perfectly." The Wildcats will look to continue their momentum as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament, which begins on May 12th.
